BAVARO, La Altagracia.- Dominican Republic will ask Caracas for more oil than the 30,000 barrels daily it now gets, in the Extraordinary Petrocaribe Summit to take place Sunday in the Venezuela city Maracaibo, said that country’s ambassador Francisco Belisario Landis.

He asked the Dominican people and the authorities to have faith in Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez’s solidarity.

He said the conclave has an interesting prelude as the Venezuelan chief executive proposed to the Organization of Petroleum-producing Countries (OPEC) to cover the oil quotas for countries thant don’t have fuels, or whose economies have been negatively impacted by the constant price jumps, by via a flexible, long term financing.

"That quota doesn’t even reach one million barrels. Then, it already shows the President’s interesting solidarity. And that’s a good antecedent for this extraordinary summit," the diplomat said.

Although the agreement establishes a 50,000 barrel import quota daily for the country, to date the purchase of Venezuela crude has yet to surpass 30,000 barrels, because Shell had bought petroleum in other countries.

Chavez has fair weather friends today but tomorrow they will discard him like a used rubber....they will drop him like a hot rock ....they will drop him as if he was dipped in lepers spit....and say to him " Try to collect " " So Sue Me ".....the bumpkin with oil is giving away his countries money and they are tiring of his antics such largess should begin at home

Tell that to Columbia and Peru.
Or the people of Venezuela.

Actually Chavez is serving a purpose. His populist/Socialist crap that has spread will cause such widespread economic problems that you will see a large shift to more open markets and freedoms by the start of the next decade. The downside is the people will suffer until then.

oooo

Pro-capitalist running dogs are not only compulsive but also congenital buck passers of everything deemed bad and swipers of credit of everything deemed good.

The oil crisis, a result of capitalist speculation, is generally seen as something bad.

So the mange and flea-infested running dogs of capitalism pass the buck for the oil crisis from the capitalist speculators in NYC to Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez who is the only one giving a helping hand to victims of the oil crisis.

The bourgeois running dogs, with saliva, foam and excrement dripping from their mouths, are thrown into rapture by their habitual duplicity since lies serve as the groundwork for the ethics they practice and extol.

Venezuela will be under moral pressure to lift quotas.

The odds are Petrocaribe will lft them.

Petrocaribe may want to put a time limit, say 6 months of 9 months, on the increased quotas.

The time limit may spur some Petrocaribe members to stand up and fight ... albeit belatedly ... the filthy bourgeois oil speculators that infest and defile NYC and London ... a fight that the DR seems to be waging boldly and resourcefully.

At the moment, some Petrocaribe members only bend over or open their mouths to the advance of the filthy bourgeois speculators in NYC and London oil futures.

Well People are generally wrong on that one. Speculation is what fuels the world's economy. Without it you would have a socialist/communist state without and development and freedom.
