If Hearns didn't have a glass jaw...we'd be talking about him as one of the top three boxers of All Time, regardless of weight classification. glass jaw is true in its own right but let me throw out some names. marvin hagler, wilfredo benitez, iran barkley, juan roldan, sugar ray leonard among many. hearns quality of opposition was among the best of all time. |

His two losses were avenged via knockout in their rematches. He never went into the ring as an underdog and possessed the most powerful right hand in the history of boxing bar none and yes I've heard of Jack Johnson, Joe Louis, George Foreman and Ernie Shavers. Not bad for a "glass jawed" boxer. Edited on 6/20/2009 7:09 PM by devin11. |

If Hearns didn't have a glass jaw...we'd be talking about him as one of the top three boxers of All Time, regardless of weight classification. If he weren't so fricking "in a hurry", wanting to knock everybody out in the first round, with his height, reach and talent, he could've been, BY FAAAAAAAAAAAR, the best boxer that ever lived!. That's my opinion about The Cobra. What he did to Duran, holly shit, was AMAZING. 5 minutes after getting off the canvas, Duran was still asking "what happened, is the fight over already?". He won it from the man who beat Tommy Hearns not once but twice, I B. Tupapaupa, remember old timers like Ernie "Trees" Terrell, and the like? today , i cannot even bother to watch a bunch of 9 foot tall Ukrainians bleeding all over each other Edited on 6/20/2009 11:03 PM by dreadlocks. |

Williams was T.K.O'd in the 3rd round of what many pundits agree was Ali's greatest showcase as an all-around fighter. I've seen that fight about 30 times and as the proud owner of EVERY Ali fight on DVD from Tunney Hunsaker to Trevor Berbick, I wholeheartedly agree. Get used to the 9 foot tall mechanical European Heavy Weights because all the probable American Heavy Weights are playing football. |

Victor Ortiz, junior welterweight, only loss was via a DQ. Juan Manuel Lopez, super bantam, undefeated, 4 straight KO's since winning the title, 3 of those in the 1st round. Demetrius Andrade, welterweight, 6'1", former Olympian, 5 wins, 4 by KO. Expect great things from these guys in the years to come. |

So would Ernie Shavers, Kenny Norton Sr., Ron Lyle, Jimmy Young, Jimmy Ellis, Ernie Terrell and far too many to mention. |
