Mexico has the same exact problem, millions of indians who want to be white so they call themselves "mestizos."
Black people in the US have light skin because they were raped by white slave owners! Do you think the offspring of that rape was considered white? No! He was treated just like any other slave only a tad bit better but at the end of the day the white man still considered them black. Mutual Interracial relationships in the US is a recent phenomenon.

The tribes in Mexico actually take much pride in their destinctive culture which is the reason why many still exist to this day! I've been to Mexico and i've seen how many prefer to seclude themeselves from society and live in the mountains or deep in the jungle. Meztisos are another thing. They are largely mixed people who take pride in their spanish/indigenous ancestry which is seen in Mexico's culture overall. No need to hold grudges these days. What happened with the conquistadors and native tribes should not be forgotten but people need to move forward and that's exactly what these people are doing. Besides, their unique culture wouldn't exist were it not for the spanish. It looks like you could learn a few things from them about letting go of the resentment you appear to have towards whites. It's the only way to progress.
