From what you have seen, heard and read on the issue being debated right now, what is your opinion of the healthcare reform package moving through Congress? A. Support it. B. Oppose it. C. Undecided. P.S: Please stay on this topic issue. I need no abstract deviations other than a quick answer from the namely three choices of A, B or C above. Perhaps a quick three short sentences or a good productive and constructive paragraph why your choice on the matter is so. Edited on 7/17/2009 7:02 PM by AfroLatino. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Nothing like having choices. First let me say, thank you for your reply as it being the very first one (lol) as I will ask you secondly... So, you feel that it would limit your choices? In terms of what exactly? If I may add: Those who can afford Healthcare now, mostly the majority of the rich will always have choices since their choices rely and depends on what they can spend. The notion that those poeple will not have choices if I may say quite respectfully is bogus. The reform is aimed more toward helping low income and bellow average citizens, allowing them the chance to go to a hospital and still receive care without the ambiguity of the HMO schemes being practiced by the medical field and rich insurance companies today. P.S: However, I respect your stance for the reasons of what you feel is your own indeed. I beg for a little bit more ellaboration. So please, your further input please... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I need to study the reform in-depth in order to state an informed opinion. Although I'd love if this reform would make the US Healthcare system similar to the one in Canada or the countries of the European Union, cuz' let's face it, the system as it is currently is the one that SUCKS the most among developed countries, and many economic studies have corroborated this point. I am no expert at this, but I do know this much; I love having PPO Heathcare! (I pay for it and I expect the best!) I can see a specialist anytime I want and I don't need to wait for the goverment to decide wheather or not I can do that! Another thing, nothing is free! I have a couple of friends from Canada and they tell me their health care system is great if you have a headache.... For anything else is no good acording to them... Again, I don't know much about it! Just going by what they tell me! And they still got to pay for it.... And it’s completely unsustainable. Even if we wanted to keep it the way we have it now. It can’t do it financially.” “We’re going to go bankrupt as a nation,” Biden said. “Now, people when I say that look at me and say, ‘What are you talking about, Joe? Check out this link if you are interested..... http://www.heartland.org/policybot/results/15034/Canadian_Health_Care_Is_No_Model_for_US.html The point is, It would still be like this for those who can afford it indeed; they would still, as you put it, be able to see a specialist and would not need to wait for a government to decide if they can do that. If they can pay for whatever cost their medical bill is or use their very own healthcare plan, they would still be able to do that just as now. Indeed nothing is free, I agree with you on that. However, for those low income and bellow average citizen of which many of whom are paying taxes yet still cannot afford to pay Healthcare cost as they often for these people medical bills is usually the reason the tend to go bankrupt in the American society something needs to be done none or nevertheless. I have been and lived in Canada, I can tell you the healthcare system is great and partially you friends may be right as well that there are some surgeries that someone would be better off coming to the United States for; but only in terms of skilled medical doctors and not so much because of the quality of the received health care there. P.S: Some people in Canada still have to pay for the higher ends of medical needs they might circumstantially encounter in some medical cases and those who still prefer to pay for their very own HMO or out of their very own pocket for better cares still can. That I know for a fact. * I will indeed check your provided link right this instant. Again, you have made some valid points as well. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
