Do Germans make up most of the white population (besides spaniards)? No, Spanish, French, Italian. I'm not sure if in that order, but they usually list those. If you consider Arabs and other mid-easterners "White", then they may make up a sizable amount. |

I'm no dunce. I figure she isn't going anywhere anytime soon until she get's bored. I'll keep responding for it's own sake despite no inherent value in conversation with her. |

As the Spanish populations, they're most likely indistinguishable from the rest of the "White" population so no real numbers. |

I'd imagine the DR would be on those lists if it's a significant population... The frenchies on the DR are only 5,000. All of them concentrated in Las Terrenas (Samaná ). I've read somewhere that there their community on this country is numbered around 25,000, making it the largest community of german descended people in the Caribbean. In my family's hometown, Baitoa, there's a family of German descent that has been living there for generations, the Ottenwalders. I consider it odd that they haven't taken the path of emigration that have plagued the people over there on the last decades, specially if we take into account the efforts that the countries of the EU have been making to call back their diasporas (to serve as a buffer against the african/arab tide reaching their shores). Are they large landholders by chance? Nope. They're just like everyone else in the town and many of them have emigrated along with their fellow Baitoeros to the States. They're just one family out of many but they just happen to be of German descent. Very few of the current generation look typically German. well my mother looks like the typical german with blue eyes blond hair fair skin i have no idea how she was able to live in dr but she did and she said that their were many like here in dominican republic |
