I just think there is a mentality of getting over on other people, or taking advantage of people and it is pervasive. In DR a lot of times its actually looked down upon or your called a "pendejo/a" for not taking advantage of people. But what can you expect when the government is so corrupt. They set the examples.

The baseball players which so many young people look up to, turns out a whole bunch of them are cheaters too. It is hard to draw positive examples or influences.

There is truth to this as well. Many are looking for the father figure they never had.

Nah, he's just another troublemaker that got banned for the same reason on DR1.

In the DR it is a common sight to see mature and older men, mostly European, parading and showing off younger Dominican "trophy" wives, and pushing the baby cart with Dominican children. This is a now a common occurrence, influenced by the popularity of erectile disfunction pharmaceuticals that bring new sexual vigor to older men.
Are these younger women in their prime "gold diggers" or the equivalent of female "sankies"?
Can we condemn them for wanting to get out of the circle of poverty into a better life for their children?
Is it wrong for them to aspire to more upward mobility, an opportunity for a better higher education for their family and a worry free life, without daily and constant struggles?
Where would love fit into this arrangement?
I will like your opinion on this subject that affects Dominican society. I will like to concentrate on younger women that marry older men, due to the fact that mostly European older men often choose to start new families, and have children and are usually very committed and responsible for that goal.
European men are usually fit and still attractive although the age difference is substantial in most cases.
Would you mind if your sister, daughter or close family marry one of these "Dons", in the autumn of their lives?

With today's medicine advancement if a person is vibrant and young at heart, I don't see why it couldn't be possible for a younger woman to go for a healthy vibrant older man? This older man could be very healthy and physically fit and not to mention there's the experience factor too.

I agree with you 100%, age should have no bearing on the fact, as long as there are certain "rules".
I happened to have met women of very modest means that have blossomed and gotten a higher education and much social polish, because of the influence of a "mature" husband.

Sad but true. Many younger Dominican women have children from careless pregnancies at a very young age, and then they are stuck with them all their lives, and can not escape the circle of poverty.
Many Dominican men are very irresponsible in caring for their biological offsprings, because of the laxity in child support legislation. It is really sad the aloofness of men or the persistent desire to impregnate women to prove their masculinity.
