la campagna has great food and sandwiches in Santiago
kucara macara in fron of the monument in Santiago has a western cowboy theme and the pollo is always good
the street vendors in front of hotel matum in santiago are also good... you can find yaroa, quipe, and empanadas late night
Amigo Cafe in Moncion is great
Also, you can pick up fresh casabe in Moncion

Was in La Campagna last week, in Santiago, salads are great and sandwiches are huge and affordable.

ant the presidente served in a frozen tall glass at la campagna... I love that.
There is also a place in San Jose de las Matas next to hotel San Jose on the main road to go back to Santiago but I can not remember the name of that place

Also, in las colinas Santiago. There is a place where they cook steak late night... nothing fancy but they sure cook it well. I can not remember the name but the outside of the building is green. Near monte bar

On the road between Las Matas and Guajaca is a great place that bakes Casabe and makes Panecicos right on the road side. Panecicos are made of yuca, lard and chunks of meat. Its a Serrano delicacy that goes down well with dark coffee.

Its his house but he built a little ranch were people go and hang out and even dance sometimes. Sosua Cabarete has some decent restaurants.

Sushi in front of Ocean Dreams is always a good meal.

Bliss has good french style food on the street across from Ocean Dreams

Tipico Juanas on the same street as Bliss but a half mile further in.

Italian in Sosua Ocean Village. Food is always good and the ambiance is GREAT.

Restaurante Orchide on Calle Dr. Stern. ALWAYS has good food. Just too many Germans smoking cigarettes makes it discusting.

Baileys in Sosua has OK food and great service.

I would like to recommend Rosseys in Cabrera for decent food. Not much other choices in food here in Cabrera.

Tipico Maimon is GREAT typical Dominican Food

Quo Vida Real nice Italian food on the road to the park as you enter Puerto Plata from Sosua
Thats what I remember at the moment.

Yes he throws down some mean carne salada but in all honesty I must admit that the best carne salada is not found in our sajoma. On the old road to POP right after reaching la cumbre at Tamboril, there is this lady that is just unreal. She prides herself in only using lean cuts brought from a special farm down in Licey. She makes her own longaniza which I always buy extra to have my nana make me a locrio the next day. In POP near the Iberostar Hotel there is a very old but nice restaurant called El Manguito. Good food at this well established family restaurant, among my favorites there are the masa de cangrejo guizada and puerco asado. The family that owns this place has been in that land for the last 300 years, yet when the hotel people came around with claims that the land was theirs, the family stood up and defended it. These are good people that were fortunate enough to battle this big hotel and win.
