I saw this same news on Dominican View (213 in NYC cablevision) and there was a Dominican female lawyer defending these people and questioning the legitimacy of the government deporting the Haitians’ offspring taken away from this location. She was swearing to reporter that the children were Dominican. I don't think we are as corrupted as them as a nation since our country per capita is $9,000 and we have the biggest economy in the caribean and Central America but that we have a bunch of pacifist and humanist who don't believe in Patria? yes.

It is almost funny to see how some people think that cutting trees and then replanting them solve the deforestation problem.

I am not an expert on the subject but many of these common things are learn in the primary schools.

It takes years for a young tree to shed enough leaves to make humus for the surrounding areas.

Young trees without mature trees near by to shelter them are more exposed to the elements and have less chances of surviving unless human hands protect and handle them.

The fallen leaves enrich the soil with the minerals the soil needs. If the mature trees are cut down, how is the soil going to rejuvenate?

Wrong buddy...

A certain criminal element in our community is a fault but our society should not bare the blame for Haiti's lack of stoves and cooking gas...

If dominicans were doing the same as the haitians, the island would be a desert by now... During Trujillo's time it was predicted that by 1990 the island at the continue pace would be a desert... It's been 20 yeas since and we are not that desert predicted because Trujillo took action and started making RESERVAS to protect what they saw coming. That means our society is different and your comment, incorrect!
