RE: A THREAD OF PEACE ON HISPANIOLA: What Is Your Suggestion?
Peace? Isn't a war necessary for that?

Yeah I know, more victimizing the Haitians. As far as I'm concerned Haitians have good oportunities in the DR taking into account what they have in their home country. They come to the DR and win money that they wouldn't be able to have if they stayed in Haiti. What is all this complaining?

You want free pass for Haitians to the DR? Well that is not going to happen even if the two countries are equally developed because of the fact that a country will tolarate only so much inmigration (both legal and illegal). Globalization and all, countries wan't to mantain their identities.

Haitians want to come to the DR but don't want to adapt, they want to bring their language, their cultures, but they don't want to learn the DR ways, so even if the island was a single country, you'd still have 2 separate groups of people living in it. And don't start telling me about historic stuff, since most people don't even care about history, specially a Haitian that is trying to survive, he just cares about today's reality.

And, since I've read a whole bunch of you nonsense comments, don't accuse me of being a Haitian-hater-dominican, since I'm not Dominican, I'm a foreigner living in the DR, and I'm a guest in a foreign country, which is what every Haitian in DR should learn.

By the way, stop posting your forum titles in uppercase, you have no right to draw attention from other threads, in internet that is disrespectfull.

Greetings fellow Human friend!

First of all, I fail to see how was that a suggestion for peace... Enlighten me, perhaps I am missing something here.

Second, you do not get to dictate how I post my thread or as to whom if it draws attention to or not... In fact, is it not the whole point in one's posting his/her post is to draw members to it... As you said it best dear human peace be with you friend this is indeed the internet of which you do not govern; so, adapt as says in your advise above.

Lastly, forget about what I want since this is not about me... What do you want and once again what is your suggestion for peace? Really a simple question.

Peace be onto you,

Consuello

PS: I am not advocating for a Join Hispaniola dear friend, rather for peace and civility between the people of two great existing respectable Nations... Co-existence does not mean one Governance, instead mutual respect and great amicable relations. Do you get this much of what the difference is? Later dear friend, thank you and peace be with you!

Tha sums al your thoughts and way of acting. You come here asking for peace sugestions and you can't even respect others by writing a proper title. I know I don't govern the internet nor this forum, at least i can show some respect and hear a suggestion by another user. Why can't you just edit your main post and put a title? If you can't do that for another user (which you vaguely call your friend without even knowing him), so how do you expect any kind of peace?

Think about it, it's not all about you, and it's not about being human or friends, it's about actions, and you talk too much and show no actions at all.

RE: A THREAD OF PEACE ON HISPANIOLA: What Is Your Suggestion?
HERE ARE THE "SUPPOSEDLY" RULES:

I have a very simple, common sense and liberal set of rules which I expect every posters to follow. If not, ah well. In posting a message you are agreeing to the rules laid out below and also to the terms of use.

If you do not agree to the rules, do not post. This thread, forums, article and comments are provided as a free service, please don't ruin them for everyone else. IP addresses, user id's and email addresses are recorded with each message . If you have a complaint about a particular poster please deal with it if you cannot stand the heat in this kitchen and since I am not here to babysit you or anyone else. I simply advice you provide educated researchable materials for other s to cross reference by replying or voicing your opinion and thoughts on the matter at hand on this thread. This is an all kind of people thread, thus any of you can take that mantra of stating that this is Dominican Today or Dominican Site out of your vocabulary and because that may be so or that you are Dominican does not exclude you from insult if you are insulting others.

So if you post a derogatory comments expect retaliation and backlash and others expressed views and discontent and resentment for your stated derogatory comment or remark, but all that I ask is to be humorous and creative about it please. Hell, get a hold to a dictionary if you have to use words and expressions never heard of before, have fun in your tactics (l l).

PLEASE READ THE RULES BELLOW BEFORE POSTING:

Be civil - Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, jut not their own facts. If you are going to call others names or generally trying to stir up trouble, expect the Newton's Third Law effect.
"To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction."

Off Topic - Please have your posts be relevant to the main topic of the thread or the posts. Off topic messages may be posted however posters must indicate that with a special note in Bold and in Red next to the off topic statement or with an asterisk as such *.

Flame / Attacks - If you can stand the heat, I say bring it to them... I simply ask that you are humorousW and creative about it. Malicious, personal attacks or self-promoting messages is to each is own.

Legal ownership - Each message posted is owned by and the opinion of the original poster. Neither me nor anyone else is legally responsible for anything posted on this thread as far as comments are concerned. Everyone may reserves the right to ignore a message at any time and by shaking the tension and start a new subject as sees fit.

Lastly - Enjoy and talk of peace, solutions by giving positive suggestions on how do you see a future Hispaniola. As I repeat, Dominicans & Haitians and all kinds of backgrounds and regions, races, colors and ethnicities are welcomed.

Dear human friend,

Point well taking, however the purpose of this thread is indeed to draw up attention to it so that both Haitians & Dominicans can start engaging in talk of peace. Thus, changing my title or its format in any way is nonnegotiable. Again, I am sorry if I did not cater to your demand dear friend as I still fail to see how your suggestions was aiming toward peace earlier... My upmost respect to you regardless if I cannot fulfilled your demand. Please read the set of rules for this thread and you will be alright dear friend I am sure... Although I do thank you for having toned down your anger, that is progress already.

Peace be with you!

Every time I hear that song by Louis Armstrong I get a strong desire to reach out and strangle someone!

Peace?
Between Haitians and Dominicans?

Does a state of war exist between the 2 nations?

Are law abiding Haitians being attacked by the Dominican Government?

The answer to both questions is NO!

DaniDR,

Thank you for expressing your opinion and have to agree with some parts of your post. Well, I a haitian national, don't think that Haitians feel they aren't on foreign soil while in the DR. It's obvious since we have to apply for our residency card just like you did. Or did you? Haitians like myself aren't looking for a free pass besides haitians in all class work hard to get what they have. They gain money by working hard and don't win anything. The complaining...well, I think it is more of civil rights that needs to be respected and protecting a group of people from exploitation.

DR despite what mention above has been Haiti's ally more so than the first world countries that claim slavery in the DR and do not offer assistance to Haiti. NGO's are exploiting this situation without looking at the real culprits that are to be blame..The first world countries they come from acclaiming to want to help.

I find it apalling claiming haitians don't adapt and dont learn the culture. It is obvious you haven't taken the time to do your homework since haitians quickly learn spanish and adapt to the culture. I find gringos come here with I know more than you from first world countries or more unwilling to adapt learn the language and complain how incompotent the dominicans are and how they haven't quinch their intellectual satisfaction but sleep with them and befriend them for personal gain.

Nonsense comments have been coming from both nationals but there are a few of us here from both nationals trying to build a bridge rather than burn them. Thank you for your interest in this Beautiful country DR and you should make it to the other side of the island which is equally as beautiful. You wont regret it at all. Respect and Peace..The one race I see is the human race..

P.S. Dont mind Hispaniola..he has issue beyond DR/Haiti relations..
