Location: United States Join date: May 2008 Member #: 827 Posts: 392 | El Grito de Capotillo Another August 16, came and passed; Yet, there were no stories covering the national "fiesta", Dia de la Restauracion, or Dominican Restoration Day. It was all over-shadowed by T.S. Fay, the fatal Tourist Bus Collision, and eclipsed by the swearing in of President Fernandez Reyna for one more term. While some here at DT, may squabble about insignificant, triffling issues, the weightier historical event: "El Grito de Capotillo", was not mentioned at all. I look on the 'net', to see if I could find any mention there. The lack of attention to this historic event reminds me of the quote: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
