(Aunque algunas personas de la comunidad de Cabarete han dicho que se trata de la gerente del aparta-hotel, la nota policial indica que es una turista) La víctima fue identificada como Hrafnhildur Lilia Geolgsdottir de 29 años de edad, la cual presenta un golpe contuso en la cabeza y tres heridas de arma blanca en otras partes de su cuerpo. La extranjera estaba hospedada en la habitación número dos del Aparta-hotel Extreme, ubicado en la calle principal del sector Tropical Goleta, donde fue encontrada asesinada. La Dirección Regional Norte de la Policía Nacional informó que ha interrogado a varias personas, incluyendo a empleados de los diferentes departamentos que laboran en el aparta hotel. El cuerpo sin vida de la extranjera fue llevado al Instituto Regional de Patología y Ciencias Forenses en la provincia de Santiago, por instrucciones del médico legista del Municipio de Sosúa, para practicarle una autopsia y determinar la causa real de muerte de la ciudadana Irlandesa. Although it's not the "same thing", it is noteworthy that "such things" happen here and are on the rise. Like a lot of other locations in the Caribbean, tourism is what drive the economy. If the DR becomes know as a place that is not safe for tourists the real downward sprial will begin.
