The convention center model is kind of bland! That building should be more spectacular. It should be a landmark building that represents the city. Something like the Sydney Opera, or the Gugenheim museum in NYC/Bilbao.

Santo Domingo needs a landmark building to represent its modern arquitecture.

They are just conceptual designs ... (is what I think and what I hope)...

I share the same fears as others... while i like seeing progress... i just can't imagine that all the nessessary precautions are being taken with all these building going up so quickly. Can you even imagine a major earthquake??? How many of these building are up to any sort of earthquake code.? My parents live on the 12 floor of 20 floor building, they have 2 elevators but only have one stair case!!!! imagine a fire in the stair case on the second floor and the power goes out!!!! everyone on floors 2 - 20 would be toast.

I checked the site and those apartments are very nice. How many people in the DR do you think can afford an apartment that starts at US$ 365,100.00?

you think that the entire D.R is almost poor and can't even afford a US$ 365,100.00!!! .. off course there's many Dominicans that have the money, thousands and i know hundreds of them, so maybe 20 or 50% of them can at least buy one! .. plus all the foreign rish people who love to live or pass there summer in D.R!
