I don't know how much you interact with Dominicans, but our fighting with Haitians is much deeper than skin color/looks. Our "beef" is mostly because of historical events going back over a hundred years, the massive influx of illegal Haitians in DR, just to name a few. Take a look at some of the other threads in this forum, specifically the one titled "The solution to Haiti's problems cannot from the DR" and you will get a better grip of what the real deal is.

Arkatype, Said Here's a picture of the late Jose Francisco Peña Gomez he looks like 95% of the haitian population. He was born in the Dominican Republic from haitian parents.

That issue til today and even after his death is still debateable. Remember, Peña was the son of illegal Haitians migrants, and it is not clear if he was born on Dominican soil near the border while his parents were in transit. So legally and theoretically, he is not Dominican. However, he was fortunate enough to have obtained Dominican nationality by way of his wealthy white Dominican adopted parents who loved him dearly. Nevertheless, either way if you have rich parents, with money everything is possible in the DR or in any country for that matter, and much more so during the era in which he was born. Things were a lot less rigid, less formality, minimal bureaucracy in which verbal contracts and agreements was acceptable, honored and a normal mode of conducting business, atypical of a predominately rural Dominican society.

Peña became such a powerful and prominent figure, that very few would dare question the legality of his nationality, eventhough his Haitian ethnicity was used repeatedly as an instrument of attack against him during political campaigns. .

Let me tell you something, I have been living outside of the DR most of my life and dated mostly non-dominican women of all types, but after I went back to DR and started dating DR women, I will never go back again to any of those other girls again.
