I remember reading a SI back around ‘97 in which they described interest in baseball was at an all time low and the whole league was on the verge of bankruptcy. Miraculously, the next year there was a hugely publicized home run race between two steroid filled players. There was a large increase in the number of home runs across the board. I remember saying back then that the balls were juice or something was obviously orchestrated. ![]() Mr. Selig, where were you 10 years ago? ![]() Edited on 2/19/2009 2:25 AM by yumnuk3. ø„¸¨°º¤ø„¸¸„ø¤º°¨¸„ø¤º°¨ ¨°º¤ø„¸INFINITY„ø¤º°¨ „ø¤º°¨FOREVER`°º¤ø |

Why was Van Pelt wrong here? Selig in no way, shape, or form deserves the kind of compensation he is receiving. Dude basically sat at his desk with blinders on while steroids and owners slowly killed the sport with steroids. ø„¸¨°º¤ø„¸¸„ø¤º°¨¸„ø¤º°¨ ¨°º¤ø„¸INFINITY„ø¤º°¨ „ø¤º°¨FOREVER`°º¤ø |

Baseball was in bad shape after the strike and this was the perfect way to bring the fans back to the ballpark, HR slugfest. Everyone is guility from Bud down to the trainers. Everyone knew this was going on and NOBODY cared, nobody except Boog Alou of course, lol. Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools speak because they have to say something. |
