Well, I have to say that I am sorry to hear about this. But at the same time I'm glad to hear there are rules and they are being enforced. Like it or not, the rules are: DT reserves the rights to remove and ban any poster that uses and exaggerates the use of vulgar language and gets too offensive towards others. And I'm sorry to say; but that seems to be the case with our friend Goulet and others here. I once said that we should be able to express ourselves without getting too offensive towards our fellow posters. And I think we've all gotten out of hand once or twice, but all the time is not acceptable.
You get what you give! And respect is a beautiful thing.....

I don't think anyone should be banned, but the comment about the venereal diseases and josean was really out of line and disgusting.
Anyway josean, showing his true colors did ask to get GC reinstated, which was a surprise to me.
I guess you learn something about human nature every day.
We all have to learn to be a little more careful in the heat of an argument and not to abuse our privilege
of expressing our thoughts, uncensored.
This is a privilege that we should treasure and not abuse.
Several times times I have gone back and erased some comments that I posted that I considered were out of line, and self censored myself.

I myself try to not be offensive and believe me at times it has been a trying task, bcs some just start hurling insults as if that makes them more rational !!

I learned to stay away from vulgar language when I lost my first debate in HS when I was defending the postion of maintaining the island divided as opposed to have one undividable island. My opponent spoke first and got me so riled up that when it was my turn and I just told him to suck this and that #$#$@#^#@^#@^$^#$#$#!!! Obviously I was expelled from that class!

We can not allow this type of censorship. In many ways the reason why the DR is the way it is, is due to all the censorship that dont let people fully live to their potential. Plus we need him to feed us great comments on the coming deportation of 10000 Haitians and the prospect of change in Cuba.

GC went too far much too often. A temporary ban is a good message to send to everyone. Without boundaries all you have is a middle school food fight.

Sorry but that's how I feel. There are far too many serious problems in this country and they should not be trivialized. His style turned the issues on their head and prevented the search for real solutions.

He made some of the wall comments but provided us the menas by which we could react and get our points through. The guy needs to be reinstated simply for the sake of freedom of speech and at times ignorance. In life you need counter points, opposite views and cliff hanging statements. It all makes for some real interesting conversations. I don't like Rush Limbaugh but he reminds me of how sane and even minded I am. He also gets me passionate about my views.
