SANTO DOMINGO.- With this weekend’s political campaigning frenzy the Dominican population’s daily life has been altered, with no relief expected until the May 16 elections.
Proclamations, rallies, caravans, banner-wavings, campaign drives, bumber stickers and marathon network radio and television talk shows are everywhere attracting voters.
From now on the population will be forced to be aware of these activities’ dates, schedules and routes to avoid traffic jams and the din associated with them.
President Leonel Fernandez began to warm up the South, touring San Cristóbal (south) yesterday; tomorrow he’ll visit Azua in that same region.
He’ll forego the region today only because of a march-caravan by opposition PRD party candidate Miguel Vargas in 29 provinces and some cities abroad.
Oppostion PRSC party hopeful Amable Aristy will also head activities in various cities.

All appears not to be well in the super disciplined PLD "Partido de La Liquidación Dominicana!"

In other words, the PLD is complaining and taking actions against the abusive and obscene raises taken by some officials and you find that to be something negative? Wow.
BASTA he looks even better here:

I found this site while blogging today, I am sure some will find it very interesting.

PPH and Hipolito Mejia left a dark legacy for the country.
Don't know why people tend to forget all major drug dealings, blackouts, high prices.
Leonel is not perfect and PLD has lots of negative issues but compare to the past
goverment it is a big difference.
I especially enjoyed the segments on Don Juan, one of the greatest men the republic has ever produced.
It is a disgrace what Lio-nel Fernandez and his fellow hoodlums have done to the party of Dr. Bosch.
I sure hate to disallusion you, but the DR DOES NOT HAVE THE RESOURSES to support a socialist economy. Look at the facts, pardner and draw your own conclusions.
If socialism were adopted in the DR, who would work?? Surely not theDominicans who are capable of even coming close to running the country. What little business exists in this country would be taxed out of existence overnight, leaving NOTHING for the incumbents to steal, much less support the rest of the nation.
The existing subsidies are hard enough to maintain, much less add all the other ingredients of supportto that.
The resultsof socialism here would be simply CHAOTIC and would devolve into anarchy muy pronto.
You need to study economics IN DEPTH. But I doubt that would do any good in the long run.
