SANTO DOMINGO.- The National Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (CNECC), the State Reform Council (CONARE) and other institutions celebrated the International Day of the Right to Know, stressing the objective of Law 200-04 on Free Access to Public Information (LGLAIP) and as a way of ensuring transparency in the Dominican Republic.
This conclusion derives from the universal human right of people to be informed through the right of access to information.
The event was held in the Hotel V Centenario with the participation of panelists and experts in the field, among them Civil Aviation Institute director Jose Tomas Perez, as one of the promoters of the topic from its beginning.

Transparancy in government, and government owned operations is one of the roots of a true Democracy and is necesary in order to enable the people to make decisions about government activities which affect their everyday lives and that of their posterity.

National Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission is a dismal failure and all involved should be embarrassed. But we all know Dominicans are shameless.
But they are transparent about their corruption. Someone has to explain to them that is not what they mean by transparent.
