SANTO DOMINGO.- Dominicans across the country and in many cities abroad began casting their ballots early Friday to choose a President and Vice president, with six million registered to vote.

In the capital Santo Domingo voting centers lines began forming early in front of the tables where Central Electoral Board officials together with the delegates of the political parties oversee the handout of ballots and signatures by those who have the right to cast a ballot.

The authorities of the Electoral-Military Police, formed by Law to guarantee security throughout the elections period, were deployed in all polling centers.

That total number of voters seems excesive, never thought we could have that many people able to vote in our island,
perhaps all the latest censors of amount of people in the country have been all wrong.
