Everything sounds good when they are out of office. We'll see what happens if he gets to go into office.

Yeah but Moreno needs to step up his game nationally. Cause every time someone ask me who i voted for, and i said Moreno, They were like who! I think the people, that do know about him, is due to the Internet

Can anyone explain to me what is the difference between the PLD and the PRD? It seems to me that the only substantial difference between them is the name of the leader. They are both center-left parties, right?

Goulet:
my buddy in Canada, Guillermo is or should be our future, if in the next 4 years he gains several
important alliances with the hard voters of our country.
He showed his guts in the first term of the PLD, when he resisted with pure steadfasteness and unwavering valor the rampant corruption around him, with that gesture , he showed many people, that seriousness and manhood are still alive in our dear country.
And true time2rize, he needs to step up as I said, not many people still know the man well,
I count myself one of them, until I started finding out about the man, but in order to play the game of politics , he needs to get in the game.

Well, I believe it is all done finally, and those putrid voices of the PRD will be silent for some time.
Already MVM recognized the JCE results of 4 or 5 electoral bulletins.

I concur with ny4life, and I have expressed myself in such terms before,
all is beautiful until anybody gets to the office of the National Palace,
it is a shame, or a political shame, that any man, no matter how serious, in the end, ir order
to get to be President, needs of so many corrupts to sit him on top.

DennisC, that's exactly that happens. Politicans change once in office and feed the corrupt and become corrupt themselves when in office. We have to prevent as much as possible. We need an ethical, brave, confident, intelligent, and ultimately a leader to serve the people not steal from them.
I hope 2012, will breed an individual capable of fitting this role. Moreno seems to be the forerunner but to be honest we need more people like in him in the gov't. Remember the President is not the entire gov't. We need more politicans that are willing to serve the people

DR will flourish with foreign investments. I foresee a continous flow construction in DR and tourism growth.

Now, what will make LF a great president and not just a good one is the social aspect. I want to see more paved roads in the ghettos, I want to see an educational plan that aims to provide quality education for the poor, I want to see a large portion of the population enrolled in plan solidaridad and the free healthcare program, I want to see more job oppts, and I want to see an increase in wages for workers as a form of distributing the wealth accumulated in DR.

The Dominican people have seen the light and have chose the PLD once again over the PRD (thank God!). Maybe its a sign that there is some intelligence feeding the masses. Supporters of the PRD are usually the poor, uneducated, unskilled individuals who are swayed by ever-lasting promises of prosperity that will be brought to them, regardless if none of those promises ever come to fruition. They are, however, forever hopeful and forerever loyal to the PRD thugs. Over time and yes in baby steps, the PLD's economic strategies will bring prosperity that will indeed reach the masses but this will take time, however, there are those that will prefer handouts than to have a job (lousy or otherwise) and they will always feel entitled to something. Prosperity comes with sacrifice people. Migrating to the US or Europe will not guarantee you a 6-figure salary upon getting off the plane. It may take 2 or 3 generations later for that to come to fruition. Think...

NYChunk wise words...... the promises of whiners and complainers are never fulfilled .... these charlatans with their DATA AND STATISTICS...hoodwink the poor into believing rubbish and soon we are on that slippery slope to ruin ...There is no FREE LUNCH

This new and strong defeat proves that the Dominicans still remember what the PRD and the hoodlums that are them have done when in power,
we do not want that class of people anymore in government,
they have proved themselves thoughroughly,
and the only thing they did in this proccess that said NO TO THEM,
was live an illusion.

While LF reelection is far better than having another PRD goverment we should understand that PLD have becomes just one of the the party they used to critize. Guillermo Moreno campained for a month or two with not big political machine, no money and no media and yet he was able to get his message across. He understood that it was a begining and that now those of us who beleive that our country deserve a better future should get on board and towards that future. Lets be critical of LF when he deserve it , but also, lets praise him when he makes the correct desicion.

To Chilaxin201 The P.R.D by far has proven itself to be the most corrupt and inept political party in the history of Dominican Republic. Not to say that the P.L.D is perfect, all political parties are corrupt one way or another. Theres no such thing as a clean and 100% proof political party. Let me just say personaly i dont endorse none of these parties. But the P.R.D should never regain power ever, the P.R.S.C is way better then the P.R.D in fact you cant even compare them, and they came out as second best. Now that's a shame!
