Santo Domingo.- Puerto Rico’s National University -Humacao Campus-, Insular Space Communications (Espacinsular) and the Dominican Border Solidarity Organization, today announced the "1st Civic, Academic and Communication Gathering on Caribbean Migration," held in Dajabon province (north), on the Haiti-Dominican border, May 23 and 24.

Attending the activity will be the speakers and teachers Herold Toussanint and Ary Régis of Haiti’s State University, Iraida Calzadilla Rodriguez, of Havana University, Maximiliano Dueñas Guzman of Puerto Rico’s National University and Karin Weyland, of Rio Piedras, father Regino Martinez of the non-government organization Border Solidarity, Colete Lespinasse, of Haiti’s Refugees and Returnees Support Group (GARR) and the journalist Bienvenido Scharboy, who’ll be the island’s civic representation.

Among the event’s topics are Haitian migration to Dominican Republic; migration from Dominican Republic to Puerto Rico and Cuban migration to the United States.

Also presented will be the results of Espacinsular’s research "Dominican media’s treatment of the Haitian-Dominican issue."

Wow, this is a first meaning approach and I am glad that it is not so far biased and discriminatory. I am loving this effort which proves that there could be hope to rectify the issue or matter in a civil manner this time. Thus this is a start. Bravo!!!

I will give you that, this is a nice effort toward addressing the border issues and may very well be the beginning for improvements in learning to co-exist amicably and with civility on the Island. So yeah, let us teach the rest of the planet why we are going forward and also changing for the better and indeed little by little.

I say both, The Haitian and The Dominican Republic "ROCKS" Hispaniola / Hispanola ROCKS!

MY PREDICTION: There is a Bio-Chemical outbreak or terror attack that will take place in the future near year or years to come, and the Caribbean Islands will be the places most will seek refuge into. Let us see then what the U. S foreign policies will look like.
