SANTO DOMINGO.- Vivian Lubrano de Castillo, convicted of fraud in the Baninter bank case, had been sent to Najayo penitentiary yesterday afternoon to begin serving her 5-year prison sentence, was returned to the Abel González clinic, where she had been hospitalized since last week.

The measure was taken by the Justice Ministry’s Penitentiary School director Ismael Paniagua, alleging that the penitentiary doesn’t have the conditions for the medical attentions which Lubrano requires.

National District Sentencing judge Saulo Ysabel Diaz had acknowledged Lubrano’s health problems as her doctors reported, but concluded that she was apt to enter prison.

Paniagua said the Justice Ministry’s doctors determined that she’s neither physically nor mentally fit to remain in the penitentiary.

"alleging that the penitentiary doesn’t have the conditions for the medical attentions which Lubrano requires"

So what? Thats the idea of prison, that its different than the outside. Throw her back in and then lose the key somewhere.

Ja, I guess nobody is mentally fit to enter a jail. That's something people should think about before commiting any crime.

Hey, here is the solution to the penitentiary systems overpopulation: get a letter from the good doctor and stay out.

"I can't go to jail, it's too depressing"!

Geez I didn't know anxiety attacks were life threatening, well other then a heart attack.

If this cointry ever gets it's act together the jails will be full of white collar criminals.

Maybe she can use Martha Stewart as her role model.

Another mockery of the so called justice system , this just sets a bad example...

How many bankers does it take to change a light bulb? A: Four--One to hold the bulb and three to try to remember the combination. Left a bit then right a bit
