SANTO DOMINGO. - The head of the National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) revealed today that it has dismissed more than 5,000 members in less than 2 years, though all not have for having links with narcotics trafficking.

Rafael Ramirez said although many of those expulsions are for the agents’ links with individuals involved in drugs, “many others have nothing to do with drugs and have been removed from the DNCD and returned to their agencies for failure to adapt to our philosophy of work."

He said many have been expelled for negligence, misconduct and for a not correctly adopting the responsibility, “which must prevail in the Armed Forces or the Police to perform antidrug functions as delicate as those of an agent, which also occurs with the civilians recruited as such.”

Ramirez said there are sectors who want to “Satanize” the Armed Forces and the Police, “making it appear as if it’s integrated by men and women without any type of scruples, which is absolutely untrue.”

"Failure to adapt to our philosophy of work"

I hope that means that: "We want you to work"

Now some of thse corrupt cops are roaming the streets and using their skills against the public.

Maybe in the future the Law enforcement agencies should use better judgement and back ground searches and psychological tests before pinning on the badge.

The Dominican Police face the same problems every other police Departments around the World face, Low Wages,Courts, Moral and ethical problems etc..etc..[ nothing like a dirty cop ]The real challenge is how the public feels, responds, reacts and respect they have towards there Police who are sworn to protect them in the first place....At least here in America there is support for Law Enforcement [ minus the criminals ] and a real since of pride that goes with wearing the Uniform, Badge and Gun. I say let's up there pay and hold them accountable for there actions, no one is above the Law and you can't expect protection from the Police if the public fears you....

Ya .. sure .. you are talking about fairy tale America .. Disney World .. where White Americans live .. try taking a walk on the streets of "Inner City" America .. Harlem .. Queens.. Watts .. South Central .. Hyde Park Chicago .. where people of color live .. where they run from the "Law Enforcement" in fear for their lives .. where they are "racially profiled" .. talk to Rodney King .. you might emerge with a completely different picture of America my dear friend .. nothing like a great illusion to feed that "warm and fuzzy" feelin' about that large "melting pot" .. but that's all it is .. an illusion .. smoke and mirrors ..

I'm sure there are many Rodney's out there, but where is Rodney King now ?....Before and since that beating he has had many encounters with Law Enforcement, besides the L.A riots was a INSULT to all Honest hard working people Black, Hispanic Asian and yes White "Can't we just get-a-long"
Los Angeles is the only City in the World with 6 major Housing Projects within a mile of one another [ A Social Disaster ] What do you expect, and all those City's you mentioned, you forgot to mention Black on Black crime, Hispanic on Hispanic Crime, Asian on Asian crime and so on..........Now, I can point and say "it's the White Mans fault" the bottom line "it's our own fault" we people of color must take responsibility for our own actions. And yes we are not a perfect Country we have a long way to go, but like it or not, The U.S is still a shining example to the World. Oh, and the last time I tried to talk to Rodney K. he was very busy, can you say J A I L
