One must remain armed AND vigilant while living in a 3rd world country surrounded by poverty, Why the Hell did he have a Haitian living with him ? That's kinda stupid !

It's the company one keeps .. could get you into a heap of trouble anywhere .. especially when there is money involved .. 24,000 pesos is a lot of cash in these here parts .. people get whacked for much less down here ..

The RD Gov is very weak on crime. Notice that they did not get the maximum sentence and now theses men are a burden on the Dominican taxpayer for the next 20 years. There is no ultimate deterrent to crime.

What would happen in a country such as China that killed an American olympian? What would happen in Saudi Arabia if someone killed anyone? Can you say.."an execution in the market square at high noon"? Reality check: the RD is soft on crime and drugs but do the blame-game to the US.

Of course, if these convicts have money then they would not be convicted. If they will have a connection to make money then they can pay their way out of prision because it is a revolving door. It is already proven that Dominican convicts who should be serving time are out on leave drinking a cold Presidente by the beach! How can the corrupt system earn anyone's respect?

If the victim had shot the robbers to defend his life then he would likely got 30 years!

Sad, but true.....I am just wondering that picture on the cover of this article is that an Dominican Jail ? or what, in the U.S due to over crowding and over use our prison's never looked so good. Please consider.......Crime without punishment only produces more crime.

Still don't get the Jersey Boy Thing.

I don't live in Jersey. Never have lived there. Don't really care for Jersey.

probably should though. I am sure if I sold my current residence at market value I could buy a mansion in Jersey.

Nah. Ugly place. Lousy beaches, Terrible Government. And a state income Tax>

Gooly,

Trust me you don't want to try to mug me. I am a big supporter of the 2nd Amendment and we have the "Castle Law" where I live.

Anthony: You probably live in Texas where they have the "modfied castle law". For those of you who don't know the castle law enables you to take out anyone who comes on your property (atleast the Texas version does). So don't mug him in his residence.
