Santo Domingo.- The deputy Pelegrin Castillo said the country suffers from a lack of government commitment to secure its land sea and air borders, as evidenced by the murder of seven suspected drug traffickers in Paya, Baní (south).
The (FNP National District) deputy, ally of the ruling PLD party, said the authorities seem weak and hesitant when they have to protect the territorial waters and airspace. "It’s unfortunate that a massacre such as Paya had to occur, to prove that the war against crime will never be won internally with police and judicial actions, while the nation is bombarded with drugs by land and sea without the State reacting strongly against such a dangerous criminal aggression."
He said the intelligence agencies require a deep restructuring, broader cooperation and coordination, to prevent and prosecute organized crime, drug trafficking and terrorism.

FNP and the Castillo family are the only ones that have guts "COJONES" speaking on behalf of the Dominican Republic well being against so many negative forces that want to destroy and wipe out our constitution foundation to please european countries, US and Canada.

Castillo is simply stating the OBVIOUS .. no sensitive national security secrets being spilled here .. it's being reported on local TV stations .. all local papers including Listin Diario and Diario Libre .. how much "chutzpah" does anybody need to state the OBVIOUS?

Well, you guys don't understand the true RD Gov strategy on border, patrol and drugs
The strategy is: Lets play both sides of politics against each other (i.e. US vs. Venezuela) as well as play both sides of the drug war. When our corruption is exposed (i.e. Bani) then lets blame the US to make them feel guilty & give us more US AID.
We must do as "little as possible" in the drug war but at the same time systematically wink on corruption as our police, military, DNCD & RD Gov officials get wealthy along with drug traffickers while Dominican society suffers. Lets use Tigres to get Haitian kids as mules to move drugs by ground & get rid of JOURNALIST.
Before, the US politicians figure out what is actually taking place; we as RD officials will be rich & can move on because we will never be caught if we corrupt the judicial system & castrate the anti-corruption dept of its authority.
This is a good RD plan if everyone just plays along to get along & keeps their mouth SHUT.

This is like the Don't ask; Don't Tell policy. We will undermine the justice system at all levels. The Tigres that murdered the journalist are back in their respective barrios of Cienfuregos, Los Platanitos (Ensanche Canoabo) and Barrio Lindo of Santiago eating a nice home cooked Dominican meal.

PLD cabinet and the president are showing signs of weakness and mediocrity doing nothing for the country, I used to think that PRD was worse but I'm debating right now to see who is going to hold the bad place.

We need the "Iron Fist" approach seriously we are losing our country to a people that have literally destroyed their own. What makes you think that phase II on operation destruction is not in effect, it really sucks. With a country that geographically has a small border enforcement should not be difficult, but the problem is the bribery element that permeates the border. The dominican goverment should seriously asess it's priority and really start deporting haitians in huge caravans of buses. Because the country's stability and quality of life will be seriously devastated to a point, that the tourist industry will be decimated.

Well if what your saying is the truth then Fernandez is making a huge mistake. In 30 years from now we will have 5 million haitians, not for nothing but these people multiply like ants "Este pais se jodio!" Habra que emigrar a otro pais para salir de estos invasores eternos o habra que desaparecerlos! Hey Joaquin Balaguer wrote it in his masterpiece La Isla Al Reves.
From: United States
How can Haitians "multiply like ants"? The human gestation period is 9 months? The average life expectancy of an ant is 45-60 days. So the ant gestation period must fit into that narrow time span. If the two are different how can "these people multiply like ants"? Either you don't know people .. or you don't know ants .. or you know nothing about either one .. or you are trying hard to insult Haitian people.

Debating the amount of Haitians in the DR, is like that, in the amount of Mexicans in California. If you would remove all the illegal aliens out of California. You still have a place filled with Mexicans. The only difference is when they got there (most before the white man).
I always amaze of the Mexican-Americans from border patrol chasing the aliens.
The DR is full of Haitians, has been so for years. Many deny their heritage, but names like Jaquez, Pierret, Dumeg, Chevallier, and many others came from France via Puerto Principe.
We will never, REPEAT never control that border.
From: United States
Trujillo had tried to "control" the Haitian population in the DR .. he did not like the idea of Dominicans being "contaminated" with Haitian blood .. so he ordered his troops to fire on them .. it is estimated that between 15,000 - 30,000 Haitians were senselessly massacred to satisfy this "Ethnic Cleansing". Would you like to see a repeat of that October 1937 massacre? So that the DR can control it's border? What are you trying to say?
From: United States
Exactly what amazes you about "Mexican-Americans from border patrol chasing the aliens"? Did you want border patrol to use Mongolian agents who cannot speak Spanish? Or would you rather they used Nigerian agents who speak Ibo or Hausa? What's amazing about Spanish speaking border patrol agents chasing Spanish speaking aliens along the US-Mexican border?
From: United States
I also have questions regarding how you arrived at the figure of 5 million Haitians in "30 years from now". If Haitians "multiply like ants" as you so confidently stated .. why only 5 million in 30 years? But go ahead and respond to the ones I posed before. OK?

Castillo is a real nationalist. I hope he becomes president some day. As to the "massacre", hmm, still haven't seen any prove it even happened. Just a rumor which people distort as they please. Sometimes it was between 8-10 thousand haitians "massacred", others between 10 - 15 thousand, sometimes 15-20 thousand and even 80 - 100 thousand....but yeah, still no prove that it even happened.
There's prove of what the nazi did to the jews. There's videos, photos, etc. Can't say the same here.

I really do not care if they control the border or not. But the truth is, they do not and never will (apply it to US/Mex and DR/Haiti).
The Trujillo massacre of Haitians has been reported to be closer to 3,000. Gutierrez-Felix in his last book and others gave it hat #. It was still terrible.
Try not to spin all you read. The irony of people of the same cultural background preventing the economic migration of others.
Mongolians I do not know but Africans make great long distance runners ( this is joke, before some one goes on another tangent)
It is just another effort, which, though must be done, the USA/DR will have no major curtailment in illegal border crossings. It has also been used as a political football by many in regional as well as national politics.(USA/DR)
From: United States
Joke all you want funny man .. we live in a very mobile and dynamic world .. one day you too could find yourself being chased by an African or Mongolian border patrol agent .. and it won't be funny. But you still have not explained why you are "amazed" at Mexican-American border patrol agents chasing aliens. I am also waiting for your friend .. the expert on ants .. to explain his "population projections" of 5,000,000 Haitians in 30 years. Where did you get the report of the Trujillo massacre of Haitians being closer to 3,000? I want to see that report.
From: United States
You hope Castillo becomes the President of which country? The DR, CUBA, CHINA? And you are denying that the massacre of Haitians in 1937 ever happened? So it's a lie then?

Maybe he says it because it should be awkward for a Mexican-American to deny his/her brothers/sisters on the other side of the fence the chance to make it to the "American Dream" as the said Mexican-American's parents did a generation ago. At least it would be for me if I were on their shoes.
From: United States
Excuse me .. those CBP agents you see "chasing aliens" are US CITIZENS who are TRAINED PROFESSIONALS .. SWORN to PROTECT our borders .. regardless of their skin color or the national origin of their ANCESTORS .. and they do an EXCELLENT JOB of it despite being UNDER FUNDED and DIS-RESPECTED. So all this hog wash about Mexican-Americans chasing aliens is just that .. hog wash. Do you know where hog wash comes from? Hogs. OK?

You mean Herr Doktor Johann of course .. he is still recovering from the crude brain surgery up in Samana .. Neuro Science is not exactly up to snuff here in the DR you know .. some of the brain matter was probably left behind on the operating trays .. a mind is a terrible thing to WASTE.

I am totally against the Bush-Cheney war in Iraq .. a very bad mistake for which our country is paying a dear price .. and will continue to do so for a LONG TIME to come .. BUT ..
