Santo Domingo.– Nearly 1,700 Haitians have been deported or repatriated from the Dominican Republic between January and April, according to data from the Jesuit Service for Refugees and Migrants.

The situation has become worse as Haiti has not signed the United Nations Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers, which further puts the rights of the country’s own citizens on the margin.

i agree with you there, Carlos. the arithmetic puts the DR at a disadvantage. and one has to wonder why Haiti has not bothered to sign the accord. could it be that the government there has no interest in protecting the rights of its own citizens?

Looks like Haiti is trying about as hard as Mexico is to keep their people from leaving.

I think it is time for a fence.

The repatriation of Haitian poor people is only a band aid remedy to a situation that has recently become totally out of control; Haiti's U.N. troops enforce law and order; Who's minding their borders? Their aim must be to allow who ever can escape the mayhem to do so. That's fine for those affected with dire poverty to leave, but, the buck gets passed on to DR. From what I have read Haiti is an ecolocial disaster; The international community is allowing the few UN troops stationed there to 'fix' the internal matters, but, fail to address the larger scope of poverty that is rampant, and spreading. The DR is a struggling overburdened nation with nearly 10 million citizens of its own, of which the majority exist on bare essentials; To expect the DR to welcome all those willing to flee Haiti, when DR can barely ensure a decent living wage for its own people, is absolutely outrageous.
DR can not absorb all that arrive seeking work; Wages are already low in DR; 2-3 million more??

Speaking of the devil and his minions:
The Jesuits, and Opus Dei are contributing to d situation by encouraging these poor people to run amok. The Jesuits personally are behind this conspiracy.
The Jesuit motto FYI is "Ordo Ab Chao" = Order out of Chaos. In other words they foment strife and wars; So they can then recommend and implement desired solutions in which they are masterfully behind the reins of power.
It's no coincidence that Bertrand Aristide is a Priest, who promoted his Lavalas (the flood) liberation theology to instigate the poor to rise up and rebel. When Aristide was ousted the current
chaos ignited into its present magnitude. Also, in DR the Jesuits are the protectors of 'fugee Haitians, and neutralize all efforts. Coincidence?

the Jesuit Service for Refugees and Migrants ...'The Jesuit Refugee Service' or JRS

Founded in November, 1980 as a work of the Society of Jesus,...The impetus to found JRS came from the then father general, Pedro Arrupe, who was inspired to action by the plight of Vietnamese boat people.

When Vietnam was divided, 800,000 to 1 million North Vietnamese, mainly but not exclusively Roman Catholics, sailed south (Operation Passage to Freedom) due to a fear of religious persecution in the North, which turned out to be well-founded.

They got the whole world (all sewn up) in their hands through their middle men and associates fighting to establish the New "Old" World Order; These are some of them: The Knights of Malta (a sovereign nation without a country), The Knights of Columbus (The Pope's Militia), The U.N. (UNESCO, UNICEF), The CFR, The Trilateral Commision, all the Non Governmental Organizations (NGO), The Free-Masons (Las Logias Masonicas); All these are working hand in hand with the Vatican (Batty-can, like Batty-man!), and it runs the whole world. Sin su apoyo no se puede ni enviar un carta! O, hacer una llamada telefonica! You need a passport to fly their skies; Yet, they are masters of disguises.

We must deport the Jesuits (SJRM) out of DR! The Jesuits are enabling an illegal invasion under the umbrella of Human Rights (the rights to violate another country and to transfer problems to other countries). Even if Jesus came to the border to promote illegal crossing, I would shoot him!

By the way the illegal crossing rate is 2,000 per week!

i would suggest it is, because 8 years of George Bush has not managed to achieve one positive development. ergo, it is either comprehensively beyond repair, or the republicans have sat by and watched it go down the drain. which would not surprise me. given the way they allowed New Orleans to suffer, why would they not permit the same for one other group of people who are predominantly black? i know, the race card. but what else could it be? no oil?

Arsenio, i see you still remember some of those old words you encountered in your sojourn in Jamaica. have a nice day.

Old words? I'll re-iterated the popular expression: If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, and walks like a duck? It's a duck. It's just a matter of choice of words.
A bunch of Men in dresses, celibate, who molest little boys, constanly condemming others for their shortcomings when theirs are paramount? I hate to stoop to name calling, but, batty-man is appropriate. Or perhaps, malaka,or masisi, or cherna, or pato, or trompetistas, or any other idiom that fits. But, never, ever, father! Even Jose Feliciano can see that!

they dont molest little boys they molest adolescents ....they are not prepubescent boys...they are adolescents ....that makes them queers not pedophiles ...homos not child molesters.....the same ones that vote democrat....Do not mistake me for a homophobe..but I am tired of this issue being treated as classic pedophilia when it is not....the Catholic church in the last 50 or so years has become a heavily gay organization at the clerical level....Believe me when I say not all choose to take advantage of young men and adolescents who have been entrusted to them ...but one is to many.....I use the the terms Queer and Homo to again emphasize and shock ......Pedophilia is the term used for this so the gay community does not get a black eye.....but it is a stretch of the legal definition to call it Pedophilia.....They are not prepubescent boys or they very very rarely are
