Santo Domingo .- The Government's Ethics Commission published the first volume of the laws called "Underlying Rules in Dominican Republic's Anticorruption Policy," in a press conference held in its Technical Unit.

Commission president Jose Joaquin Bido said the compilation aims to dispel the confusion in some citizens who don’t know its nature and mission.

Allow me to be the first to enunciate what we all already know. THE SKY IS FALLING, THE SKY IS FALLING, THE SKY IS FALLING. The return of blackouts, the obvious corruption at all levels of government, the growth of the drug trade throughout the country ( and legalizing it would only cause every country in the world to turn their backs on us), the horrible education system, the lack of fair pay for doctors, the lack of transparency in everything ( although at times the dishonesty is so obvious that it IS transparent) the raping of our environment, the control shown by the unions (in other countries referred to as groups of thugs, not unions) in the Caribe Tours and Andegas situations and now the return of Hippo. Feel free to add to this list. Trust me, THE SKY IS FALLING.

regretfully, juanb, i must concur with you. i posted before that i believe that the powers that be have given up trying to solve the country's ills. the country is awash in drug money, what with all the INVESTORS roaming around. i think that it is hereinafter going to become a dog eat dog show, with each politico grabbing as much as he can, offshoring the loot to the Cayman Islands, then taking a hike when things get tough. the populace will, as usual, get the shaft. it is beginning to look more dismal as time passes!

Now this would actually be funny if it wasn't so sad. This country is so morally corrupt from Head to Toe and to even say that they have a Ethics Commission is the biggest BS Abstraction I have ever heard. Dominicans have NO SHAME WHATSOEVER. TOO bad...

This guy doesn't look like he can see straight. What a surprise. In the land of the blind the bald-faced crook is king.

maybe, Escott, the function of the commission is to set out on a fact finding mission, to investigate what ethics are, and to see if they can be applied here!
