Santo Domingo. - Vice president Rafael Alburquerque today admitted that the constitutional reform has articles which aren’t “progressive” and that “it is not the ideal text we would’ve wanted.”

He affirmed however that the Constitution which would result from this process will guarantee the Dominican Republic as a social and democratic State.

He said although the regulation of the Reform process stipulates only two readings, nothing prevents an amendment and a third one, but favors concluding the topic of the Constitution.

Interviewed on Channel 5, Alburquerque said there are people, which he didn’t identify, who seek to misinform the population on the reform process by calling it a conservative Constitution and by doing a bad interpretation of some of the articles approved. “They have an intention of discrediting the political class, an interest for an aspect of the social class to determine what’s going to be done.”

Here's a good one:

Soon to be president M. Vargas announced today that he was "surprised" that cameras used to record the legislative session caught members of his party voting more than once, using other legislators voting devices. I am not surprised by anything that these people do. NOTHING!!!

Mr. VP the Ayatollah Nicolas De Jesus Lopez Rodriguez is going to be very upset for that comment, he is greasing up the rack at this very moment!

What do we expect them to do not vote for their friends who collect huge paychecks and don't even show up to these meetings. I am glad to hear this is all filmed now how about acting on these facts. Having someone vote twice does not sound very legal. If it is on file how about prosecuting these people for it. It is so painfully obvious how corrupt our politicians are and yet we do nothing about it. We are a joke to the international community chasing down these international criminals while doing nothing about the real problem....how they were and still are able to operate by paying off our corrupt officials.

The "subversives” use the internet to organize protest in DR; the revolution against corruption may be beginning!
