SANTO DOMINGO. - An earth tremor shook to the Capital and a large part of the country’s north region today and sparked panic among those who felt it Thursday morning.

The U.S Geodetic Survey (USGS) specialized Earthquake Hazard Program detected the quake -magnitude 4.3 on the Richter scale- at 8:20 a.m.

The epicenter of the tremor, felt in Tamboril, Santiago, Espaillat, Santo Domingo and other localities, was located at 19.570 latitude North and 70.574 longitude East, at 10 kilometers in depth.

No injuries or damages have been reported so far.
