Santo Domingo.– Dominican authorities announced Friday a large haul of narcotics and cash was found in two operations, with the police seizing 293 kg of cocaine and US$167,160.

The seizure was carried out on Thursday night during a joint operation of the Drugs Control Agency (DNCD), the Central Anti-narcotic Direction from the National Police and the Public Ministry.

According to DNCD President Rolando Rosado Mateo, the drugs were seized in Buena Vista district in the capital, and the money was seized in Benny district, also in the capital.

The police found the narcotics in 244 packs inside a pick-up, which was the property of Gabriel Arias Castillo, also known as "Alex el Pelotero," as well as 1,000 bullets, binoculars and tapes. Arias was arrested in the operation.

Good job. Keep it up.

Now make sure the people who are doing this go to jail. And stay there.

do you know why dominican is getting so much drug business?

to stop this illegal business, learn from singapore:

1. heavy punishment
2. if the weight over a certain limit weight., "capital punishment."

if you teach people in a nice , soft way , and it is not working., then you have to use hard way to stop this.

"sentence them to death".

This must be the result of better information sharing between DNCD- DEA and USCG.

THINK the difference between the DR and Singapore is like chalk and cheese but the Singapore rules are also in place in Malaysia and Thailand and have not worked so well as there is a substantial drug trade and use in both those countries ..so capital punishment is not always the wonder it seems and personally I would rather die than have 30 years in a Dominican prison ..the arabs cut off limbs and maybe that punishment may have some appeal to you

Capital punishment? Our Church controlled legislators just passed a law promoting the sanctity of life from inception till natural death. Do you really think that they would violate their master's voice and allow capital punishment? The same clowns that cannot be prosecuted for their own crimes committed while in office? I don't think so.

I guess the drop Zone just move to the east. Up until the depart of the Aristide Government we were a Narco state, things got so crazy the police used to block strip of the highway during daylight so the loads will land, some cats got so crazy with it,they did not care to go into remote areas cant bother to get their G500 f*&**(up. Police officer were running around with Cartier glasses,it seem like everybody thought the shit was legal. Now its all quiet on our side, but I guess the party just move over to DR . Good luck the police in DR is so corrupt its not funny. I used to have to remove my front license plate when I crosses the border , Could not deal with the shake downs at every post along the way to Santo Domingo. Yes you do have a strong police presence in DR but instead of to protect and serve these guys motto seems to be to shake you down and lock your ass up.

One of my most memorable moment in DR was during a trip I got into a minor car accident , at the time I did not have DR insurance on my vehicle so I was told my Haitian policy is not valid here. Which was BS because to finance that type of vehicle in Haiti the bank requires you to carry an international insurance policy. I ended up getting arrested, had to spend a night locked up, the police chief felt that his jail cell was not suitable for me,so he decided for the right fee he would allowed me to get a hotel room. we worked it out and only thing I had to leave the keys for the Gwagen with him, and he made sure me and my friends had some nice chicas for the night. After that we became good friends and every time I'm coming back to Port au Prince from Santo .Domingo I had to make time for a game of Domino and drink a few Presidentes with him, and off course break him off something.

First, I don't believe the amount of money turned in was a mere US$167,160.

More likely double that figure......

Then there is the small load of 293 kg of cocaine.

600 pounds is not a lot of Coke.....

Just wait .....Till the bullets start flying because some one is lying...

Knock Knock...

Who's There?

Bang Bang ...Your dead!!!!

In singapore they whip you ass with a cane, bring in a doctor to stitch your asss up. Wait until it heals and then whip you again. and repeat until the punishment is dealt with. 8 lashes takes eight weeks. Stealing is a whipping offense.
Since Dominicans dont discipline children how can you expect them to disipline adults when they act like children.
