Santo Domingo. - The United States Justice Department and Immigration Service deported former New York Mets pitcher Ambiorix Burgos, who arrived Monday afternoon under strict security guarded by two federal agents who handed him over to Dominican authorities in the Las Americas Airport.
From the terminal agents escorted the ex Major Leaguer, native of Nagua (north), to police headquarters for questioning. He was being held in a New York City jail for 7 months after his fiancée accused him of beating her in a hotel in Queens.
Burgos, escorted from the Immigration jail in Manhattan’s Rikers Island for deportation yesterday afternoon, arrived on American Airlines flight 1529 from from Kennedy International Airport.
In Nagua Burgos is accused of causing the death of the women Angely Faña, 29, and Josefina Minaya, 38 the night of September 30, 2008, when he allegedly rammed them from the rear with his SUV.

How in the world is he allowed to be in NYC? Was he free after 90 days in jail or has his trial for manslaughter been held over?

This is what makes me mad about my country...people get positions without education. I am tired of Dominican Government letting MLB come and promote the "American Dream" tho our young ones who decide to drop out of school to chase this "Dream". This is a good example of an stupid uneducated figure that though that he could get away with dumbness just because because he can throw a ball. Education is the key that will free us from the situation that we are facing in the Dominican Rep. I am just afraid that the more educated we are the best we will get at been corrupted without getting caught.

They only difference of the Junot Diazs as they do to the Albert Pujols is that one is the result of many years of education outside the Dominican Rep. and the other was a result of many class cutting to play baseball (not to take anything from Pujols) I know he is one of the few that play educated baseball.
