Port-au-Prince.– A group of U.S. congressional representatives have wrapped up a
visit to Haiti to observe the humanitarian and political challenges
facing the Western Hemisphere's poorest country.
Rep. John
Conyers, a Michigan Democrat who is chairman of the U.S. House
Judiciary Committee, led the group of U.S. lawmakers, which reviewed
operations of agencies involved in drug interdiction efforts, legal
immigration and humanitarian and development issues.
Conyers praised Haiti's improving security at a brief news conference in Port-au-Prince on Tuesday.
The
U.S. lawmakers said they met with President Rene Preval and conducted
site visits to an orphanage, hospital, and shelter during their trip.

It's all DR's fault. Haiti has no trees? DR's fault. Haiti has no infrastructure? DR's fault. Haiti is a failed nation? DR's fault. That is what these clowns will say.

Platano you are right! Haiti continues to blame DR for its failures telling their people that we took all their land that is why Haiti is poor. That wrong propaganda only adds to the fire! THE HELL WITH HAITI!

These US Lawmakers are starting to sound to me like polititians in DR a lot of observation and investigation. Well I don't need a full investigation or Observation i can tell you that Haiti is in a failed State now if ya'll just want a free vacation thats fine but please if ya'll ain't going to bring into Haiti please save the Tax Money Trip since i'm paying for some of it.Haitian should also do something for them selves and stop blaming Dominicans for failing to your country and like i have said before i would love to see Haiti get off the ground since it will help DR too by having less problems to deal with.

it is funny. where have u ever read that haitians blame their ills on dominicans. it seems that there is a particular sector in dr that tends to fan the flames of hatred between these two people. it is a way to keep dominicans ignorant and always have the upper hands on the riches of the country. dumbness in dominicans is not genetic. there are many dominicans intelligent enough to understand the game. positive comments on the situation on both countries are rarely printed in dominicantoday.

well balanced you have never been to Malpasse? That is what their youth are told in their school! They are thought two general garbage ideas:
1-Haiti liberated from slavery and European powers (1801, 1805, 1822, 1845, 1849, and 1855).
2-DR took all the Haitian land and that is why Haiti is so poor.
These are the two general claims spewed by the brainwashed carcass Haitian crowd.

wellbalanced,
How many times have you been to Haiti because there is only 2 reasons for that kind of answer you have never been there (Haiti) or you are one of those who is Haitian but decided to run away and never come back (aka cowards). We are a poor country yet we provide food for about 17 percent of Haiti that now leaves in DR you said we Hate them yet forgot to read the other tittle on this site and whats next we should feel sorry and hand over the whole island and run away. I can guarantee you one thing dominicans will never do that.In school in Haiti they are told that the reason they are poor is cause DR stole their land. I live in Texas i know how the blame game works remember Bush the master at it. and yes to all Haitians that decided to run away and not help their motherland you are a coward and yes i'm a dominican saying this and no i dont feel sorry for being it either. DR has helped Haiti more than many Haitians ask Wiclef Jean about that

DT is putting this Haiti type of articles because is news for the whole island not because of other reason. wellbalanced, if you are Haitian you are giving Haiti a bad name and if you are not then you better find a better news source or take a trip to Haiti that may help tourism there. Now do you really believe DR want Haiti to be poor.

belly and generoso,
i wonder which schools you went in DR. I try to decipher what u said. What kind of english is that ?. It shows really that your education level is low if u can believe that such things can be taught in haitian schools. Isn't true that Toussaint Louverture abolished slavery in the eastpart of the island? If u have a different history, let me know.,I would welcome it. And. it is true also that haitian armies invaded and occupied the east part of the island many times. I agree with u . the haitian politicians didn't do anything to improve the conditions that prevail, but to believe that haitians are blaming Dr for her problems are far fetched and only ignorant folks can embrace these ideas. Illegal immigration in DR is a big problem, I acknowledge it, but please, read, make an effort to understand the way politics works. Don't expose your ignorance on the web, because one who has never been to DR would tend to think that all dominicans are dumb and ignorant. Which is

think you all must have better than that. Both countries DR and HAI were invaded and occupied by US during 20th century .After years we have one to keep advantage of occup ,DR.In my personnal opinion, problem is educationnal .All infrastructures made by US in Haiti were destroyed :railroad hospitals, sugarindusties, baseball fabrics civil airports. After Duvalier the country is a disaster. No experienced politicians helped the falling of industrial production.Commercial balance always defecit.Poverty and corruption are everywhere.Mother nature helping the job.International community aid is a must .Until when?
