NEW YORK. - Dominican slugger Albert Pujols won his second National League’s Most Valuable Player award, beating out Ryan Howard of the World Series Champions Philadelphia Phillies.
The Office of the Commissioner of Major League Baseball based in New York made the announcement naming the St. Luis Cardinals1st baseman, who won 18 of the 32 first place votes.
Pujols’ contract stipulates that the team would give him a US$200,000 bonus for getting the prize, which he first won in the 2005 season.
