Los Angeles.– The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that infielders Kendry Morales and Sean Rodriguez have been optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake and pitchers Jose Arredondo and Rich Thompson have been recalled to the Angels from Salt Lake. These announcements were made by Angels general manager Tony Reagins.

In other movement, the Salt Lake Bees reassigned catcher Derrick Thomas to extended spring training and called up right-handed pitcher Milan Dinga from extended spring training.

Morales, 24, was called up to the Angels on April 20, but did not appear in a game.
The Cuban native has appeared in 16 games for the Bees in 2008, hitting .278 with three doubles and 16 RBI.

Rodriguez, 22, made his major league debut on April 19, hitting .250 at the plate against the Seattle Mariners. The Miami, Fla. native hit .333 in 13 games with 11 RBI, five doubles and four home runs for Salt Lake in 2008.

Arredondo, 24, earned a 1-0 record and 1.80 with the Bees along with a team-high seven saves in 2008. The Dominican Republic native has yet to make his major league debut and will do so in his first appearance for the Angels.

Thompson, 23, began the season with the Angels appearing in one game before being optioned to Salt Lake on April 5. The Australian native owns a 1-0 record and 2.57 ERA with the Bees in 2008.

Dinga, 23, joins Salt Lake from extended spring training after playing for the rookie league Orem Owlz in 2007. In four games for the Owlz, the Santa Rosa, Calif. native owned a 1.35 ERA with one save. His first appearance with the Bees will be his first triple-A appearance.

Thomas, 25, joined the Bees from extended spring training for his first stint in triple-A, however did not play in a game for the Bees. The Orem, Utah native played in six games for the Orem Owlz in 2007, hitting .571 with two RBI.
