Miami.– Jose Canseco told the syndicated TV show Inside Edition that he walked away from his $2.5 million, 7,300-square-foot home in suburban Encino because it didn't make sense to continue making payments.

"I do have a judgment on my home and it to me is very strange because it didn't make financial sense for me to keep paying a mortgage on a home that was basically owned by someone else," he said in an interview that aired Thursday.

"You know my life, this financial thing, is a very complicated issue. Obviously, when you make all that money, people think, 'OK, let's assume it is $35 million.' People have to understand that $35 million, you're paying the government 41 percent. That leaves you with about $17 or $18 million, not even. Then you're taking care of your whole family."

He must have been getting financial advice from "Lie-onel" Fernandez and the PLD economic gurus!

I am very sorry for Jose Canseco. I know how hard must have been to have to raise a family with only $18 million. I think life was very unfair to him.

All brawn and no brains and a snitch on top of it.

If you have ever seen this guy up close he looks like the "Poster Child" for steroids.

I guess he blew all his money from "Juiced"at the casino..

I am sure he won't have any friends in MLB that will help him out.
Like they say "What comes around goes around"

I hope the bank sues him and anyone else that walks away from a home like that.
Idiots that are doing this are destroying the housing market even further and creating a situation where getting a home in the future will be almost impossible and ridiculously expensive.

That's the payback he gets for acting like such a loser entirely devoid of all sense of scruples and integrity. That HDLGP.
