Houston.– Miguel Tejada will skip winter ball this offseason to gear up for next season, his contract year.
Tejada is a mainstay with the Dominican
club, Aguilas, but he wants to have a strong 2009 season before hitting the free
agent market. He's already hoping for a contract extension from the Astros.
"I want to have a super season," he said. "I want to see if after next year I can stay here."

That is sad, as it is always good to see Miguel playing winter ball. Good luck on your next contract,Miguel.
