Santo Domingo.– Dominican rock group Cerobit performed Saturday night at Casa de Teatro, where they made a journey through their musical repertoire and played a couple of tracks from the upcoming album due out in October.

Cerobit, who started in 2002 as a project of several singers for a disc designed by Tomas Alvarez, is formed by Mariela Viñas (voice) Tomas Alvarez (bassist-producer), Ariel Sanchez (guitar) and Otoniel Nicolas (drums).

Their first album ´Entre dos mundos´ was launched in April 2005. ´Dueña,´, ´Bien Fine,´ ´Ayer,´ ´Con solo mirar,´ ´Lo que piensas,´ ´Entre dos mundos´ and ´A tu lado,´ were chart toppers at the main rock stations in the Dominican Republic.

In 2006 and 2008 they were nominated for "Best rock band" at the "Casandra" awards, a recognition staged by the association of show business writers grouped in Acroarte.
