New York.- Septeto Nacional Ignacio Piñeiro, Cuba’s legendary and timeless son ensemble, will present an exclusive New York City concert at the Hostos Center for the Arts & Culture at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow Saturday. The Hostos Center is located at 450 Grand Concourse (at 149 St.) in the Bronx.

The concert will be the first by performers from Cuba at the Hostos Center since the fall of 2003 when U.S. visas began to be denied to Cuban artists.

Septeto Nacional Ignacio Piñeiro are paragon interpreters of son, Cuba’s national music genre par excellence. Decades before the Buena Vista Social Club, the septet performed the compositions of its namesake, transforming them into international standards of the son tradition.

A glorious ensemble of that eternal Cuban music expression El Son. May they continue to offer us their great talents for many more decades to come.
