Manila.– Australian investigators in Manila say they have found no sign a bomb caused the giant hole in a Qantas jumbo jet's fuselage that forced a harrowing emergency landing in the Philippines.

Neville Blyth, senior investigator of the Australian Transport and Safety Bureau, says the focus is on an oxygen bottle missing from the cargo hold. The hold was left exposed when a section of the 747-400's metal skin ripped away 29,000 feet over the South China Sea on Friday.

Blyth told a news conference Sunday that tests for bomb residue were negative and that Philippine officials had bomb-sniffing dogs go through the hold, finding no indication of explosives.

The plane, a 744, got tired and gave up.

But the performance of the pilot in the emergency was magnificent.

What might you have done if you were the pilot COMMIE? You might have been throwing up all over yourself and begging your heroes MARX, LENIN, MAO, CASTRO, HUGO for relief .. and they would have come crawling into the cockpit to help you harness the energy of the PROLETARIAT in safely landing the plane .. hats off to our great COMMIE pilot and the infinite power of DIALECTICAL MATERIALISM ..NOTTTTTTTTT !

Quantas definitely has the best safety record but Philippines airlines is not the worst if you look at it in terms of the number of fatalities per million miles flown(see below). Avoid China Airlines(Taiwan) unless you have a death wish, have purchased a lot of flight insurance or don't give a damn. Enjoy.

China Airlines (Taiwan) 7.16
Air India 4.89
Pakistan International Airlines 4.55
Indian Airlines 3.53
Korean Air 2.58
Garuda Indonesia Airways 2.53
Philippine Air Lines 2.47
Thai Airways International 1.60
Singapore Airlines/SilkAir 1.50
Cathay Pacific 1.45
Japan Air Lines 1.36
Asiana Airlines 1.14
Malaysia Airlines 0.92
Air New Zealand 0.74
All Nippon Airways 0.22
Qantas 0.00
