SANTO DOMINGO. – An estimated 200 former soldiers occupied former Haiti military buildings in the northern part of that country on Tuesday to demand the reinstatement of the disbanded Army and 14 years of back pay, the news ageny Reuters said, quoting the group's leader and witnesses.

The men took over the buildings in Cap-Haitien, Haiti's second largest city, and in Ouanaminthe, a town near the Dominican border.

Former soldiers and street gangs led a bloody rebellion in 2004 to ouster president Jean-Bertrand Aristide, who fled Haiti for exile in Africa. He disbanded the army in 1995, but former soldiers say that was illegal and have periodically demanded back pay.

"We are mobilized because we want the army back," Milot Laguerre, a former army officer who claimed to be the group's leader told local radio, Reuters said. “The government has to pay our salaries and we want to provide security for the population.”

The men who occupied the Cap-Haitien former army headquarters, now used as government offices, wore military-style uniforms but no weapons were seen, according to radio correspondents at the scene, though reporters said those who took over the army building in Ouanaminthe had pistols and clubs.

These people are terrorist that toppled a government and should not be allowed to walk around Haiti plotting their next coup d'état. You may not care if you see another repeat of '03 but I surely don't. These men need to be arrested.

Jemesouviens, I agree with you whole heartedly but we all know that they ain't going to get arrested so why not put these group of people a job to kill other killers..lol Have your heard of the ecuadorian boys in Haiti that's part of this group. Guy Philippe is part of that crew and is hiding like a squirrel. I can't believe the USA can't find this guy. Well he was trained by them so I guess he knows their strategy..just like the boys in Afhganistan.. I say put them to use jemesouviens..they will pay later but now we need them to put on the hard hand and get rid of those kidnappeurs..

That is written on the License Plates from Quebec. These cars are driven by cheap french-Canadians who drive slow in the left hand lane and leave 5% tips in restaurants.

Loosely Translated it means: I am Soup.
They will argue that it doesn't. Don't listen to them. They are all liars.

You see Jaboa, this is what I don't understand. These men committed crime against their own country. Guy Phillipe and Lois Jodel Chamblaine are terrorist. They overthrew their own government and in the process killed dozen of their own people. In the constitution this action is called "Treason". We need to stop reward crime in Haiti and start punishing it.

Jemesouviens, brother I agree with you these idiots will get theres let's use them to clean up some of the dirt bags and later worry about cleaning these dirt bags. These guys were in the DR training and had the backing of uncle sam now that there mission to destroy their own people is over they are left with empty promises..These goons thought they were going to get a piece of the pie or government jobs but find themselves in the provinces shooting rocks. Why not give them something to do like border patrol and secure that region? Cali Cartel have moved the spot since haiti is hot right now and these goes are starving. They are going to get wants coming..justice isn't always served quickly..il faut de la patience...Have you heard from Guy P. This idiot thought he was on top of the world now uncle sam is after him he is talking about soveriegnty. Bueno other things refuse to disclose on this forum but they are going to get what's coming. And haiti will prevail..

I can't believe that you ignore the fact that the Hipo administration, with the approval of the US department of state, trained and supplied the thugs which would oust Aristide on February 2004, Rubi. Apparently, your job at the factoria is not enough for you to pay for cable tv, because the fact that those thugs were training in our country is hardly a well kept secret.

Lautaro, that was a good one. Rubi, you know better and know damn well I won't accuse the DR of something that is baseless. One question 4 you where hell have you been. As Lautaro mentioned this is a well known fact. I mean you couldn't do a wiki search to fine that out. Rubi, you are slipping man. I don't know now I think I enjoy you more when not on your meds. These guys came right across the border with AK's and fatigues made in the USA. To bad they don't get blamed for that and once again we will be at each others throat just they way they want us to be. Funny thing is now they are asking your country to bare the responsibilities.

About what, Rubi? Exposing your incredible ignorance about things in the island? Please, your jokes may be entertaining, but there's a point when enough is enough, at least, if you don't want to look like a complete idiot. Be my guest.

GC, I love america and admire there art of making others personal puppets for the own interest. This isn't a bashing party of the Good Ol' Boys since it is a known fact that it is a model & leader of the world although that role is changing swiftly. Rubi, did you get the information yet? You've been posting oddly lately. What's the matter? Me thinks you are realising everything isn't about the evil haitian wanting to take over the DR. Let me find out your getting some sense. I think you should not mess with Lautaro one of the few I respect and take there word for it without a doubt.
