Santo Domingo.- Pope Benedict XVI says he is offering special prayers for people suffering in the wake of hurricanes that hit Haiti, Cuba and other Caribbean countries. The pope also recalled the populations of Texas and other southern U.S. states that were battered by hurricanes earlier this month.

Benedict told pilgrims at his Castel Gandolfo summer retreat on Sunday that he hopes that help quickly reaches damaged areas, and that solidarity and brotherhood prevail.

A series of hurricanes and tropical storms damaged hundreds of thousands of homes and claimed several hundred lives in the Caribbean, including impoverished Haiti. In Texas, Hurricane Ike left hundreds of people homeless.

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. -------Isaiah 59:2,3.

--*
But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
----Matthew 223:8,9.

--*
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.--------1 Timothy 4:1-3.

He should pray for his own salvation, and repent from his sins!

Dread,

I am worried about Chauncey! It has been hours since we last heard from him. He can't be constipated again. Remember what happened to that guy in the Sopranos trying to relieve himself.

Do you think the news of the death of Laissez Faire economics caused his pacemaker to stop?

I think we should email Cardinal Nicky to pray a chaplet for him or maybe even a novina!

josean and dread:
Why instead of demonizing the pope and the catholic church defaming my faith and asking for unrealistic and illusional concessions better point the finger to your own people and do a responsible proclamation to your fellow country men to stop believing in vodoo which is the same as believing in Satan and to me this is one of the main reasons why haitian population in general are still living in a state of mediocre and prehistoric foundations beliefs and also why hatians in general seldom shift forward.

Instead of preaching negative ideas against the pope why not respect his positive attitude when he is actually asking to the rest of the planet to help your country, instead you respond is poisonous and full of hateful opinions.

The Catholic Church ONLY TAKES CASH.
In exchange they give blessings, absolutions and guilt.

Being a Christian is not based on membership.
This goes for any other person or entity that claims to be Christian, yet openly violate the doctrines of Christ.

HOLY SHIT,
This is the guy who is the representative for the church that for pure greed was partly responsible for wiping out the Taino in Hispaniola and others in the rest of SA. For beeing responsible for millions of AIDS victims around the world due to a ban on condoms.

All religions are a huge scam to intimidate people, and hence seek power over them to profit.
In 2008 all people should now this is just the biggest scam there ever was.

anthonyc. for your postings today, i take back everything bad i said about you in the past. that lone statement about the catholic church only taking money is priceless. but, i reserve my right to go on the offensive against you in the future , if necessary. as to the musings of Rubirosa, as usual, they are incoherent, and i will not dignify him with a reply.
