NEW YORK.- New York City’s televised and print media have excluded the Dominican candidate to the mayoral race of the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) from the debates, the organization said in a statement Wednesday.

The organization said the candidate Frances Villar is part of the ongoing discrimination because she’s a woman, Latina and Black.

Villar, the first woman to run for the city’s top office, bases her campaign based on frontally attacking the millionaires and corrupt politicians.

Some weeks ago the native of the eastern city La Romana had told Dominican reporter Miguel Cruz Tejada that the city’s Anglo press ignores her.

Several debates have already been conducted in community forums and television and radio programs such as NY1 News and CBS news, with the incumbent Michael Bloomberg, the democrat Bill Thompson, the conservative Stephen A. Christopher, among others.

Liberal Socialist Party (LSP)? WTF?

Uhhh last I checked in the U.S.A. it's Democrats, Republicans & Independants that REGISTER to vote. LSP? NO esta en la lista, gracias. Socialism in AMERICA is not a consideration thank you, we've seen how it works in other countries.

Her "exclusion" is not because of race or color....it's because her platform is a miniscule "ACORN" based thought process that has no place here ["attacking millionaires"]....we don't want state run electricity or water....or health care either...if she wants to live like it is in the DR, let her move back to the barrios of the DR

Socialistic thinking to take from the rich and give to the poor is not the American effin way....come here, get a job (not food stamps) and work your way up....or not, but if you choose to live in America, live AS AN AMERICAN......

"Villar, the first woman to run for the city’s top office,"

That is false. The first woman to run for mayor of NYC was Cynthia Leonard, way back in the late 19th century and several women have announced their candidacy since (and before Villar). And ANYBODY that the Liberal Socialist Party puts on the ballot will be ignored by the MSM regardless of their sex, color, or ethnicity.

Look there is nothing she has that can attract media attention. I give her credit for trying, but come on a socialist? Please.....She doesn't have a chance. It will be a waste of time. Come on against Bloomberg, a filthy rich NY Jew, who is doing a great job and already has great relations and strong ties with the Dominican community and with everybody else in NY. If at minimum she was at least esthetically appealing, but even in that area she has drawbacks. NAA......You need a lot to become a media darling, but I am sorry to say, Frances Villar is lacking lacking a lot of stuff and one of that is money. Money is the greatest equalizer.

@DoggPound,

Those are the 3 biggest parties in America, not the only parties. There are Socialist parties, Communist Parties, Nazi Parties, etc.

That said, this person should not be given any attention based on her ideology.

I'm not one to make fun of appearance either but...

Have any of you heard her speak?

She's clueless.

She leverages the typical "us versus them: approach to garner support.

There's a reason why the media pays her no attention and it has nothing to do with race, sex, age, rather it has to do with the fact that she's ignorant and has no basic understanding of economics.

Most people talk a lot of smack but never do anything about it.

Then you guy’s make fun of her speech. For crying out loud.
Our last so called President could not speak even when it was
written for him and look at the mess he got us into and now
President Obama has to pay the price.

Yes, I agree se should try to work her way up the political ladder.

But give her an “E” for EFFORT.

DoggPound,

I'm an American citizen born and raised amigo. I was wrong about Nazi parties as all the ones that DID EXIST are defunct but there are many socialist/communist parties. They elect candidates but this is a Two Party political system.

The fact of the matter is the she is the first woman of color to EVER be on the ballot for Mayor of NYC in the General Election. She has every right to attend these debates because she has met every requirement for ballot status. I signed her petition this summer and from the Campaign Finance Board website I see that nearly 15 thousand New Yorkers did too. Why is it that the voice of the people of NYC can be silenced because their candidate doesnt have millions of dollars? That is not democracy it is Oligarchy. Bloomberg has done NOTHING for our working class communities in NYC except terrorize us with Police watch towers and illegal and unethical stop and frisks. This woman Frances Villar is from our community and understands our needs. I know who I will be voting for on Nov. 3rd. Thank you Dominican Today for having the guts to expose this disaster that is democratic in name but never in action.

This is a great effort on her part.... completely futile but great none-the-less.

In my humble opinion - she is a few steps ahead of herself at this point. By that I mean - If she is a latino woman running for mayor.....she might have an easier time if NYC had a woman as a mayor in the past..... or if NYC had a latino as a mayor in the past.... There would have been a precedent in place.

She is coming up against the most popular mayor of NYC in a long time.... One that is a strong advocate of the Dominican Republic (and NYC Dominicans). Maybe she should have taken a role as a staffer for one of the major mayoral candidates and after some exposure - she may have stood a little more of a chance in 8 or 12 years.

The TV stations and the newspapers are all private entities and are well within their rights to allow or deny anyone to participate in any debate they organize.

Not inviting this extreme left, fringe party candidate is not censorship. It is freedom of choice.

The Jew's Control New York City and they used to control Maimi untill the Cubans changed that.
So why can't a Black Dominican Woman do the same for Ney York.
I wish I was there to help her in her Campaign. I would see to it that see got the same coverage as the others.

TO ALL.

REALITY CHECK.....

This Candidate is running for the Office of the Mayor of NYC not Office of the Dominicans of Washington Heights. She must prove She can Governor to SERVE ALL THE PEOPLE of the City of New York.....
Is She a "Oh'Blama Mama" ?
Why is it When a Candidate is strung low with no OVER ALL SUPPORT does one automatically assumes it a Black Hispanic Female thing ?
IT"S NOT WHO SHE IS, BUT.....IT'S WHO SHE REPRESENTS AND WHAT SHE STANDS FOR to serve all not just a curtain segment of Society.

She is hopeless ,nobody in their right minds calls their party socialist in the US if they want to win ,the modern trend is to use euphemisms like ACORN ,COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS,PROGRESSIVES but they know the the name socialist carries too much negative baggage.

I thought with BHO in the white house they would stop playing the race card but bad habits die hard.

Pepe32,
Your right ! maybe had she done the Oh'Blama thing, then once elected SURPRISE ! ....or at least ran on His coat tails and used "DA FIRST" mentality.
What was She thinking ?
If anything......She does have B%$#@ more then Oh'Blama for being UP FRONT.

PlProfe,
That A + thing I was talking about.......She just got from me FOR BEING HONEST about it.
I just hope She doesn't try this crap in the DR, for the DR's sake....

HellBorn25,
Maybe She should open a Dominican Restaurant in WH and give out free food and DISH-IT-OUT. I'm sure "Josean Da Chosen" would be the first in line not for the free meal but to give Her His support thus becoming Her best Customer by helping to "Spreading the Wealth" / "Free food" and with the profits if any.....She can help pay for their "free Health care".
Sorry ! about that I couldn't help myself.....
Take care.
