Bogota.- The coast guards of Colombia, Panama and the United States seized at least 1.2 tons of cocaine in a speedboat in the Caribbean Sea, the Colombian navy said in a statement this week.    

The Colombian coast guards pursued a suspect speedboat from Colombia's Gulf of Uraba to international waters in the Caribbean Sea, where U.S. and Panamanian naval forces took part in the operation in keeping with a joint maritime agreement, the statement said.

As much as 1.2 tons of cocaine of high purity in 51 bags were found in the boat. The drugs were worth 36 million U.S. dollars on the black market, the statement added.

it is not impossible, remember that those speed boats are specially modified for speed and cargo. Carrying a two or three men crew plus a 2 thousands kilograms cargo is normal for those racers.

It works like this, give the coast guard some happy hours and while they are celebrating their historical catch, ten tons or more sail freely into D.R., and U.S. ports among other places.
